About the Role

We are looking for current students to join Uber as Strategy and Planning Intern for the fall 2021 (16 weeks)!

You will be embedded within a group and work closely with leaders across the organization to define opportunities, set our strategy, align teams around that strategy, and collaborate with business partners including Finance, CommOps, Product, and Operations.

What You'll Do

• Execute data analysis and insights generation
• Drive analysis on meaningful strategic subjects in order to find opportunities for operational and financial performance improvements
• Coordinate & execute insights generation for planning process
• Collaborate with Uber teams across the region to lend analytical and critical thinking to track financial and operational objectives

What You'll Need

• Numbers and spreadsheets don't scare you. You connect the dots between the data and operations and gut-check every number you see.
• Ability to craft a story out of very few as well as billions of data points. You can interpret complex information and teach it to anyone.
• Love for quality presentations - You believe every presentation is an opportunity to share valuable insights. You pride yourself on making quality presentations and you are more than happy to help your teammates do the same.
• Empathetic - An ability to build deep relationships across a broad organization, foster a fun and collaborative work environment, and understand problems from diverse perspectives. Humility and empathy are critical to success in this role.
• Grit and perseverance - You're passionate about a challenge and push yourself to persevere when others back away.

Basic Qualifications

• Rising Senior currently enrolled as a Bachelors in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or any relevant field with at least one semester remaining to complete after this internship.
• Currently enrolled in a Co- Op Program

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar), Google Suite
• Previous internship experience in consulting firms
• Placed in business case competitions

About the Team

US and Canada Community Operations (US&C CommOps) provides premier customer support to all Uber customers and partners (e.g., riders, drivers, eaters, restaurants). Managing customer service for our region involves global coordination of service resources in North America and beyond. The Strategy & Planning (S&P) team is a core part of the US & Canada Community Operations organization, setting and driving the strategic vision of the organization.

The Community Operations Global Strategy & Planning team works with teams across the world to provide critical business insights to help find opportunities and implement operational improvements. The team is working towards developing an outstanding support organization that scales optimally, is reliable and consistent, and provides unmatched service to our Uber community. This is a highly sought after team that is known as a talent feeder into the rest of Community Operations and Uber!
